James Lasek, C.Ped.

Certified Pedorthist

I live in Clovis, California, and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Fresno in 2007. I have been a Certified Pedorthist for over 12 years, working in the orthotic and prosthetic field helping patients improve mobility, comfort, and overall quality of life.

During my career, I spent five years treating Fresno State athletes across multiple sports disciplines, gaining valuable experience supporting high-performance demands. Today, I primarily serve veterans, diabetic patients, and active individuals through my clinic.

My passion for this work is deeply personal. At age 22, I shattered my calcaneus (heel bone) into 22 pieces. I now live with plates and pins in my foot and significant arthritis — something my podiatrist once described as resembling the foot of a 90-year-old.

After physical therapy, pain management, and trying numerous solutions, nothing provided lasting relief. That experience led me to design and fabricate my own custom UCBL and orthotics, which I have worn daily for years. They allow me to remain active and functional — something that would otherwise be difficult without proper support.

Custom orthotics work by holding the foot in its natural corrective position. Many people have structural imbalances that benefit from support — even before pain develops. Proper orthotic intervention can improve alignment, comfort, and long-term foot health.

I have tried over-the-counter insoles and rigid custom devices that were uncomfortable or ineffective. Through education and hands-on experience, I discovered solutions that truly work — and now provide those same standards to my patients.

Thank you for trusting High Performance Orthotics.

Orthotics & Custom Insoles FAQ

Most Popular Insoles
Does insurance cover your insoles?

Unfortunately, no. We don’t currently work with insurance companies for custom-made orthotics.

Are they truly custom-made insoles?

Yes — each pair of our insoles is custom designed from the impressions you take of your feet (or from other fit data) to match your unique foot shape and biomechanics.

Will Upstep help my condition?

If you’re experiencing foot pain, arch issues, heel pain, flat feet or other common foot conditions, our custom insoles are engineered to support your arches, improve balance and distribute load more evenly. Individual results may vary.

Will I feel immediate relief?

Some people notice improvement quickly, but custom orthotics are not instant fixes. A break-in period is normal. Gradually increase wear time so your feet can adapt.

What if I have a specific diagnosis from my podiatrist?

Yes — even with a specific diagnosis like plantar fasciitis or flat feet, our orthotics are designed around your foot structure and condition.

What kind of guarantees do you offer?

We offer a 180-day money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied, contact us within 180 days. We also support remakes and adjustments.

Do you accept FSA/HSA debit cards?

Yes — we accept FSA/HSA debit cards as a payment method.

How does High Performance Orthotics compare to clinic-made orthotics?

Our insoles are custom-designed by podiatrist-led teams, use advanced materials, and offer a convenient, lower-cost alternative to in-clinic orthotics.
