Meet the Pedorthist
James Lasek, C.Ped
Hi — my name is James Lasek. I live in Clovis, California, and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Fresno in 2007. I have been a Certified Pedorthist for over 12 years, working in the orthotic and prosthetic field helping patients improve mobility, comfort, and overall quality of life.
During my career, I spent five years treating Fresno State athletes across multiple sports disciplines, gaining valuable experience supporting high-performance demands. Today, I primarily serve veterans, diabetic patients, and active individuals through my clinic.
A Personal Journey
My passion for this work is deeply personal. At age 22, I shattered my calcaneus (heel bone) into 22 pieces. I now live with plates and pins in my foot and significant arthritis — something my podiatrist once described as resembling the foot of a 90-year-old.
After physical therapy, pain management, and trying numerous solutions, nothing provided lasting relief. That experience led me to design and fabricate my own custom UCBL and orthotics, which I have worn daily for years. They allow me to remain active and functional — something that would otherwise be difficult without proper support.
